I ❤’D New York

The loss of unique culture and history is accelerating in New York City. The increase in luxury buildings and chain stores change the city at a fast pace many cannot keep up with. Not only do neighborhoods change drastically, but residents are often priced out. This thesis explores the negative anonymous statements, interviews, found objects, and photographs.

From a wide range of backgrounds, neighborhoods, and age groups, over 40 New Yorkers submitted their memories, thoughts, and opinions on the topic of how they’ve seen New York City change.

This project was selected for the FIT Museum 2019 Senior Show.
